Operational tools and interfaces
A warehouse system is rarely used from one and the same screen. The same task is carried out on a handheld terminal in the aisle, on a tablet at the dock and at a desk in the office. We build the interfaces for all three in HTML5, on the same data.
In practice that means customer portals, web shops and operational overviews, connected to the Epix order and warehouse systems. The interfaces are built as single page applications, which keeps response times down — in a picking environment the difference is measured in seconds per line, and the number of lines per day is large.
Communication runs over REST APIs, which means the same services can be used by an external partner or a reporting tool without the interface having to change.
Logistics and WMS solutions
Some operations have outgrown their standard system, or have requirements that cannot be configured into place. We go through the flow and build the logic needed for storage placement, picking routes and material flows.
The starting point is to get waiting time and manual steps out of the flow. That is where both the cost and the errors sit.
Cloud operations
A warehouse system that stands still stops the business. We help customers move operations to the cloud, with the availability and the location-independent access that an operation running several sites needs.
We work with private, public and hybrid deployments. Which form fits is decided by the requirements on where data may reside and who is to control it.
Deployment models we work with:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Software as a Service (SaaS)
Environments are built on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, with redundancy, load balancing and automatic backups.
System integration and automation
A warehouse is connected to suppliers, customers, carriers and the company's other systems. Where data does not move between them on its own it gets copied by hand, and that is where the errors come from. We build the connections.
We integrate with:
- Automated storage (AS/RS), AGVs and conveyors
- External business systems, over APIs and EDI
- Carriers and forwarders, for booking and shipment tracking
- E-commerce platforms, for synchronising balances and orders
Product data and PIM
A warehouse system cannot pick the right item if the item data is wrong. Dimensions, weight, units and packaging structure govern both where a pallet is allowed to stand and how many packages go on an order. We help customers structure and maintain that data.
With Product Information Management (PIM) the figures stay consistent through the whole chain — from purchase orders and stock control to the web shop.
AI and machine learning
We take on consulting assignments in AI and machine learning, and have experience of running them all the way from study to a solution in operation.
One recurring question is product data sheets that are still copied by hand. We work with advanced OCR against services such as Azure AI, OpenAI and Claude, where the content is read out and handed on as structured data.
We also have experience of working with machine learning — regression analysis for lead times and consumption, recommendation systems, anomaly detection and forecasts. The starting point is always the customer's own data and their own way of working, and that the model should remove a step that is done by hand today.
